Privacy policy
Effective 18 July 2026. PropertyFilter processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 2013 (POPIA).
1. What we collect
Account information (name, email, phone for agents, agency and FFC number for agents); content you save (saved homes, notes, saved searches and their filter settings); enquiries you send (name, email, phone and message); and standard technical logs needed to run the service. We use session cookies for sign-in only — no advertising trackers.
2. How we use it
To operate your account, deliver enquiries, and run saved searches. When you enquire on a listing, your name, email, phone and message are passed to the listing agent so they can respond — that is the purpose of an enquiry. We do not sell personal information.
3. Optional demographic preference
The area demographic preference is off by default, entirely optional, applies only to your own search results, and is never displayed on any listing or shared with agents. You can switch it off at any time in your profile.
4. Retention and your rights
We keep account data while your account is active. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time — contact privacy@propertyfilter.co.za. Enquiry records already delivered to an agent are also held by that agent as an independent responsible party.
